TESSA johnston
Church Administration & Young Adult Ministry
Tessa moved from Missouri to the greater Charlotte region when she was just a year old.
She graduated from Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) with an Associate of Arts in 2019. Tessa also obtained an American Sign Language (ASL) Basic Communication Certificate from the Interpreter Education Department at CPCC. She has a deep love for the Deaf community and has loved ASL ever since she took her first class in high school.
Tessa began attending MCC in the fall of 2019 where she has enjoyed serving on the worship team and the children’s ministry team. Her involvement in ministry first began with a month-long internship for Family Church in Portsmouth, England in 2017. She currently volunteers with the pro-life ministry Love Life Charlotte serving during their Saturday morning prayer walks.
In the fall of 2021, Tessa felt the Lord impressing on her a desire to go deeper in her passion for ministry, and she accepted her staff role at MCC with expectation and a thankful heart.
During her free time, Tessa enjoys dancing, singing, and spending quality time with friends. She also has a passion for dark chocolate, outdoor adventures, and cuddling her cat Chrissy, who brings her both joy and opportunities to grow in the fruit of the spirit.
