THERE’S POWER IN PRAYER

Prayer is a privilege for those who love God and understand its value. The Bible makes it clear that there is power in prayer.

Because prayer was a priority in the life of Jesus (Mark 1:35) it should also be a priority in the life of every believer to spend time with the Father. In fact, the gift of communicating with our Creator should be our greatest need and desire.

The Bible contains many examples of how to pray, and it encourages us to pray wholeheartedly. ( See 2 Kings, 19:15-19, Jeremiah 33:3 Psalm 19:14, Psalm 63:6, Matthew 6:5-15, Luke 9:28, Philippians 4:6, Romans 10:1, Acts 4:29-30, James 5:14-15, Acts 12:5, James 1:5, Philippians 1-9-10, Colossians 1:9, Ephesians 3:17-19) There are just a few examples of the importance of prayer in the Scriptures.

Why do we then pray? Among other reasons, it brings us closer to God and aligns our hearts and purposes with His heart and purposes.  Our prayer is that we commit our hearts to prayer and communication with our Heavenly Father.
