God's Cleansing Fire

Last Sunday (1/23/22), at the end of a powerful worship service, God used a few of our church family to speak prophetically about what they saw and felt in the Spirit as we worshipped. The outcome was powerful declarations of God’s purpose and intent, we believe, extended to all believers.

As a church, we intentionally make room for God to speak prophetically through our church family, and we are thankful for those who took the time to listen and step out to share what the Lord showed them.

Below are the three (3) encouraging words spoken. We pray these words will encourage you to further surrender to the purifying, cleansing, pruning, fire of God.

Jake Colletta:

Jake shared concerning some of the situations he has been going through and trusting God in the midst of a hard season. He then shared what the Lord showed him during worship.

“I see an image of a great fire sweeping over a beautiful valley and forest, destroying everything in its path, trees, flowers, all life. But even though that fire caused destruction and wreaked havoc, that death does something remarkable, not only does it make room for new growth, but it also fertilizes the land with nutrients for new life to grow, sometimes even more prosperous than originally.”

Philippians 4:19. "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."

Angela Rowan:

"I will bring the one–third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is my people’; and each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”    Zechariah 13:9

This fire that’s coming will go deeper in exposing the roots of sin in order to heal and re-establish healthy foundations, and it will call you all to a higher level of consecration and devotion to Jesus in your everyday lives so that you can steward the increasing glory that I want to pour out.

The first wave of refining has taken out many who started their journey strong but got distracted or sidelined by fame, media, hidden sins, undealt with brokenness, or who were not deeply rooted in Jesus.  There are those who are even angry with Me for choices they have made or for hardships they have had to endure.

There is now another refining coming that will purify at an even deeper level. This fire I am referring to is a fire of deeper cleansing. It has to happen for you to be able to steward My presence and holiness. In My loving mercy, I am sending this second wave to prepare you to learn how to live in the fire, refined and consecrated, so that you can receive all that I have for you. This invitation to live in the fire is not as much a turning from sin, but it's a call to those who are already walking in obedience to become rooted even deeper in My presence to steward this incoming glory. It's an invitation for you to have greater union with Me. It will be like the burning bush experience Moses had. Your face will shine with My glory, and all will see Me in and through you. When you learn to live in this fire rather than avoid it when the fire does come—sometimes through increasing favor and other times through trials or persecution—you will already be purified to the core of your being, so it won't take you out.

Lord may we regularly welcome Your fire to examine our motives and purify our hearts, to purge us of anything that would hinder honoring His holiness.

"For the seed shall be prosperous, the vine shall give its fruit, the ground shall give her increase, And the heavens shall give their dew— I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these."    Zechariah 8:12

Christy Brooks:

Fire 🔥 -  A controlled fire, is planned and executed to get rid of the dry, overgrown areas, and areas of concern. God uses controlled fires.

This type of controlled fire is a type of pruning. It protects what is valuable, good, and healthy.
It also prevents a wildfire, which often comes from the enemy, that destroys everything in its path.

A controlled fire is planned and has boundaries.

There is no doubt, we are in a season where God is cleansing and purifying his church through these controlled fires. What should our responsibility be as believers? Embrace the fire, embrace the process, embrace the tests. In the end, God’s purpose is to remove the dross so that we may come through the fire as pure gold. (1 Peter 1:7, Job 23:10)

This process can be strenuous, painful at times, but in the end, we know it is for our good. May God strengthen our resolve as He places His hand on us, and purifies us, so we may be vessels of honor.
